WHO includes walking, wheeling, cycling, recreation and everyday tasks within physical activity. Regular movement supports physical and mental wellbeing, and smaller amounts still count.
The suitable type and amount of activity vary with age, ability and health. If you are recovering from treatment or have activity restrictions, use your care team’s guidance when deciding what to do.
Questions for your everyday routine
- Notice which forms of movement you enjoy and can access.
- Consider opportunities to break up long periods of sitting.
- Ask your clinician about activity limits when relevant to your care.
